Eighth graders at Wood Hill took a trip to Boston on Tuesday, Nov. 26 to visit the House of Blues. There they watched a performance by the Boston SchoolHouse Band and took a tour of the artwork on all three floors. This trip is offered by the International House of Blues Foundation, which explores aspects of blues-inspired music and folk art as part of American history. The trip coincides with the eighth grade study of African American history and reading of The Glory Field by Walter Dean Myers.
In the photo gallery above, Wood Hill students listen to performances and view art work at the House of Blues in Boston. The International House of Blues Foundation provides access to the Blues SchoolHouse resources for students.
