Thanks to a large donation of books from The Bridges Program at Wood Hill Middle School, The Hub was able to create the new "Bridges Collection" in the library. These books are geared toward struggling or lower-level readers, but will appeal to all students. Books range from picture books and oversized fiction, to chapter books, to a variety of nonfiction materials.
All books are at reading level 5.0 or below. With the help of student volunteers on 7West I was able to pull all books from The Hub's collection that were at this reading level and add them to the Bridges Collection. All books are marked with a yellow dot. Fiction is located at the end of the fiction shelves and marked with a sign. Nonfiction, including biographies, are woven into the regular shelves. Students can identify them due to the yellow dot on the book's spine.
Come check out the Bridges Collection! Thanks again to Ms. Barkley for the generous donation.
